Faith Chapel Christian Assembly
Someone you should know
God Loves you
For God loves the world...that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
God wants you to know him personally
Now this is eternal life that men may know him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent. John 17:3
“…I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Isaiah 43:7
Scripture speaks clearly – God’s purpose in creating man is for His glory. It is repeated in this verse: “I have created him…. I have formed him… I have made him.” The message could not be clearer.
Recently the Reading Eagle published the “Most Wanted by the Berks County Sheriff’s Department” booklet. As I looked on the cover and paged through to view the various faces, and crimes my heart grieved – I was reminded that although these individuals are considered among the most wanted in Berks County – they, along with many up-standing citizens, are on another list of most wanted. They are most wanted by God.
While it is clear that the individuals in this particular booklet are not currently giving glory to God in the way they live, scripture clearly reminds us that God created man for His glory. Does God grieve? Yes, I believe He does. One particular truth of Scripture – God has made the ultimate sacrifice so that fallen humanity can have a relationship with Him and in doing so, bring glory to Him. While the Sheriff’s Department wants these individuals one greater – God Himself is pursuing them.
So, as I look at this “Most Wanted” booklet, I pray that hearts and lives would be changed for His glory. They are not the only individuals God is pursuing. He seeks the lost among us. Where do you stand? If God were to publish His most wanted booklet, would your picture, name, and current status be included? Do you have a personal relationship with God? If not, you can. Here are the simple steps:
1. Admit your need – I am a sinner.
2. Be willing to turn from your sins – repent.
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
4. Pray – invite Jesus Christ to come into your heart and live.
A simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Jesus, I need Your help; I cannot live for You on my own. Teach me Your ways. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
The next steps:
1. Read your Bible every day – start in the book of John.
2. Talk to God each day – this conversation with God should include asking Him to help you understand His Word – the Bible.
3. Attend church – you are invited to attend Faith Chapel.
4. Realize that God is with you and has a plan and purpose for your life.
5. Keep in mind that being a Christian does not mean that life will be easy. It does mean that God will be with you each and every step along this journey called life.
If you are a Christian, are you living your life to the glory of God? If so, PRAISE GOD! Continue walking with God. If not, you have a choice – call on God today – renew your relationship with Him.
We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings to learn from the Word of God. Faith Chapel – practical faith for everyday life. |
